Definition of meditation….
I often get told by students that they are unable to meditate because they can’t keep their mind still. My response is that a cultivated sitting practice takes time but there are other ways to mediate if you feel seated is too difficult.
It’s best to start with walking meditation or yoga/tai chi, sport, painting, sewing etc. Whatever requires you utmost mindful attention, will assist in preparing you to practice seated meditation.
The import part of this process is not to rush your progress as there is no competition to see who can get there the fastest or who knows more about it. It is a journey not a race.
